Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join a well-established, progressive manufacturer who are based in Aberdare, South Wales. The company are a leader in their field and have a growing product base supplying companies throughout the UK. The role is a days’ based position working Monday-Friday office hours.

 

The Role
Reporting into the Operation Manager, you will be responsible for co-ordinating all activities required to meet quality requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
Duties will include:

  • Management, development and implementation of all Quality Management systems. BRC, ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Ensure the Company has the latest safety guidelines in place and remain compliant
  • Lead HACCP team and associated meetings
  • Establish best practice Quality documentation systems and on-line checks
  • Drive a ‘Quality Culture’ throughout all levels of the business
  • Day to day control of the Product Quality standards being produced across the site
  • Carry out root cause analysis on any internal or external Non-Conformance issues, with a view to preventing reputation
  • Liaise with internal departments to promote Quality objectives
  • Liaise with external suppliers and customers to ensure proactive quality requirements are met and improved where applicable
  • Carry out and oversee the relevant internal audit schedules required per QMS system
  • Ensure Environmental monitoring is relevant to the range of products being produced
  • Ensure ATP swabbing results are analysed with a view to improving hygiene standards
  • Control costs associated to Quality requirements
  • Establish routines for staff carrying out direct and indirect quality checks
  • Establish KPI’s necessary for business improvement in relation to all Quality matters
  • Become an active member of the SHE team, working to required safe standards.
  • Ensure product sampling and traceability allows full testing evidential documentation following a product recall type event.
  • Obtain QMS certifications (BRC, ISO)
  • Upskill staff in relation to Quality awareness
  • Reduce / eliminate customer complaints
  • Review Quality control methods, with a view to improvement and with an inclusive approach

 

The Candidate

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC
  • HACCP Level 4
  • Food Safety Level 4
  • Internal Auditor training
  • H&S Qualification
  • Development & Implementation of QMS
  • BRC Auditor (desirable)
  • Lead Auditor (desirable)
  • Implementation of AA grade BRC Standard (desirable)
  • Microbiology knowledge (desirable)
  • Knowledge of procedure writing
  • Effective Communication
